Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her most well-known work is her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian. She was also of English heritage. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
