Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s original Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in every season of Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's childhood. In times, her family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk sometimes and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran had difficulty at school and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
